NEW VOLUNTEERS
Welcome to Kasey Wright, recent graduate of Salisbury University. Kasey is assisting with Spring Festival and Special Olympics. She came to HCI because she “wanted to be involved with an organization that serves the community in a very important way”.
ADVENTURE GARDEN CLEAN UP
Thanks to the many volunteers who assisted HCI in the semi-annual clean up of the Adventure Garden at Holly Center. Your hard work paid off – it will be beautiful for the Spring Festival. HCI RESPONDS
Despite tough economic times, HCI continues to offer needed programs to individuals with disabilities and their families. During fiscal year 2008 over 2100 individuals benefitted from HCI services across the Eastern Shore. Services include Youth Mentoring, Splash Program, Assistive Technology, Vocational Services, Computer Loan Program, Maryland Relay and Independent Living.

CONGRATULATIONS!
Congratulations to Dave Dave Duitscher, one of 16 Jefferson Award Winners who received a gold plague and medal at a wonderful ceremony held at the Fountains on Saturday, 4-4-09. Dave has been a long time volunteer with Holly Community, Inc., Deer’s Head Hospital and Coastal Hospice. Way to go Dave!
VIETNAM
Rose Carey is traveling to Vietnam in May with a group from Delaware Technical Community College.. She will be visiting several orphanages, an HIV clinic and an elder care facility in addition to touring Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Marble Mountain, etc. She should have lots of stories when she returns.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS
Special Olympics has been scheduled for May 2nd for the main event at Wicomico Stadium.
Sponsors are needed for the athletes. If you would like to sponsor an individual athlete (t-shirt, pin, meal, medal) for $17.00, we are accepting donations.
