JEFFERSON AWARD

Dave Duitscher was recently presented with the Jefferson Award at Holly Center. This award is presented to an outstanding volunteer in the community. Mr. Duitscher supports HCI at the annual Christmas Giving (as Santa) and Spring Festival (as the French Fry man). He is also very involved with Coastal Hospice, Deer’s Head Center, Quota Club, Ruritan, Christ United Methodist Church and the list goes on and on. He is the “true definition” of what it means to be a volunteer. Look for the presentation on WBOC in the coming months. Congratulations Dave – we are very proud to count you as one of HCI’s volunteers.

NEW TELEPHONES

New amplified telephones have just arrived from ClearSounds to expand our large inventory of equipment for people with hearing loss. Two new portables have great amplification and the buttons are larger. The landline models have very large buttons and options for tone corrections and volume control. If you qualify for the Maryland Relay program run by the State of Maryland, you can receive free equipment, free evaluation and free training. Call Janet Parke at 443-260-0822 about trying the telephones in our demonstration area or to get an application for Maryland Relay.

$50,000 RAFFLE
CANCELLED

Following extensive consideration by our Board of Directors, it has been concluded that current economic conditions facing our nation and our region do not support our $50,000.00 raffle. Refunds were made to the ticket holders. HCI will re-visit this fund-raising effort at a much later date.

Your participation in this fund-raising effort is greatly appreciated. We will advise you of any and all opportunities for support in the future.
